It also seems that the 2013 reunion album and the subsequent tour are not enough for them as Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne have recently reunited for a track on the vocalist’s forthcoming solo album. Who knows? After all, the others (including bassist Geezer Butler) did bury whatever hatchets they had to bury. As far as I’m concerned, the book’s never closed with Sabbath! I’m writing like a demon, I’m living life.” I’m very open-minded about doing something like that. I can lay track at my studio in Los Angeles. Black Sabbaths touring drummer Tommy Clufetos explains why his drums were not used on the bands 2013 final album, Grudge. I haven’t spoken to the guys about it, but I have talked to a couple of people in management about the possibility of making a recording, which I can do safely, even with Covid around. The way I play the drums, it’s becoming tougher as I get older. Nothing live necessarily, because I’m looking at what I can realistically do. “ My biggest contention has been ‘let’s make another album’. They’re my brothers and I love them.”īoth Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi have expressed interest in one more Sabbath reunion, which would be to take place at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Ward doesn’t say ‘No’, but at his age and in his physical condition he’s more enthusiastic about working with his ‘brothers’ in the recording studio. Black Sabbath Drummer Has No Idea Why He Was Hired Instead Of Bill Ward By Andrew Magnotta AndrewMagnotta Touring Black Sabbath drummer Tommy Clufetos, who performed with the band on its 'The End' farewell tour, says he doesn't fully understand why he got co-founding drummer Bill Ward 's job. I’ve been working with Tony since 1964 when I was 16 years old. So we wanted to bring another drummer just in case Bill ended up saying I cant do it for. A lot of things have crossed between us and there’s new boundaries that I’ve had to build, but I don’t think any less of them. I dont think he quite realizes how hard it would have been on him. The tour includes stops throughout the UK-Nottingham, Dublin, Manchester, Newcastle, London (O2 Arena), Glasgow and OZZY’s Birmingham hometown-before heading to Europe for gigs in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy and Switzerland. In a recent interview for The Metro, former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward contemplates the idea of making a studio album with his friends and former bandmates. Prior to the North American tour, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter will kick off a six-week European trek in OZZY’s native UK on January 31 before wrapping March 16 in Zurich, Switzerland. The concert-part of the itinerary of his recently announced new dates for his “NO MORE TOURS 2”-will come near the end of OZZY’s 2020 North American shows, which kick off May 27 in Atlanta and conclude July 31 in Las Vegas. OZZY just announced that his postponed Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl show will now take place Monday, July 27, 2020. The singer made the announcement on his Instagram page with an update on the tour happenings which you can see below. The prince of darkness is playing the Hollywood Bowl on July 27, 2020. Ozzy’s final tour of North America is kicking off May 27 in Atlanta and concludes July 31 in Las Vegas. "Maybe one day there’ll be one last gig, I don’t know."Įven though we may not see Sabbath in the flesh ever again, Osbourne recently announced his upcoming return to the stage after canceling multiple dates due to his aforementioned health concerns. "Those final gigs in Birmingham were bittersweet because you think of how far we came, and how much we did, and it would have been good to have shared that together.ĭespite the empty feeling of the tour, Osbourne did leave the door cracked for a possible final reunion. "Tommy did great, but the four of us started this, and it should have been the four of us ending it," he says. ![]() While Osbourne did give props to his touring drummer Tommy Clufetos, who filled in for Black Sabbath's farewell run, he felt that finishing with the classic lineup would have have been more fitting. We didn’t have the fucking time to hang around, we had to get going, but I’m sorry it didn’t work out with Bill." "People put that down to me, but it wasn’t me, honestly. "I didn’t like the fact that Bill Ward wasn’t there, for a start," Osbourne says. The band's original drummer, Bill Ward, was left off the bill. ![]() Osbourne revealed his distaste with the tour in a recent interview with Kerrang!, saying it just wasn't the same without the band's full original lineup. During the Nacon Connect, we learned about an upcoming roguelike deckbuilder called Roguebook. ![]() ![]() I’ve found, though, that having an app hear and identify bird songs around me in real time has supercharged my learning. Discovering the existence of the Warbling Vireo via its song was like receiving a secret message only I could hear, everywhere I went. I had thought I already knew all of the truly common birds here. Streaming an old episode of M*A*S*H while I fold laundry? Uh, yeah, pretty sure that's a Warbling Vireo singing in the background. Shopping for plants at the nursery down the street? Warbling Vireos singing. Watching my kid on the playground at the local park? Warbling Vireos singing. It turns out Warbling Vireos, and their warble, are everywhere. It’s a generic, never-ending, up-and-down warble (hence their name) that, if you’re a bad ear-birder like I am, is easy to write off as, “maybe a finch?” And then ignore.īut to me, now that I know they’re a thing, that’s a big part of the species’ charm. They are mostly gray with a slight yellow wash, and a Twitter acquaintance of mine recently described their song as the elevator music of birding. And while the Cassin’s Vireos moved on to other habitats in subsequent weeks, the Warbling Vireos stuck around all summer long.Įven among this often subtly-colored bird family, Warbling Vireos are especially unremarkable in both appearance and sound. Oh right! Vireos! They had been with me all along. So when the app insisted that it was hearing first a Cassin’s Vireo, and then a Warbling Vireo, I was gobsmacked. I had a weird habit of forgetting they existed at all, and couldn’t even have told you which species were common where I live. I wasn’t-in fact I had a blind spot when it came to vireos. My favorite discovery was the Warbling Vireo. But being awakened to the presence of many amazing birds that I'd never realized were so common near my home was a humbling experience. I felt like a goober as I walked the trails with my phone held out in front of me to pick up all the songs and calls. Within an hour, the app had alerted me to the presence of Western Wood-Pewees and Olive-sided Flycatchers, helped me remember how to distinguish the songs of Black-headed Grosbeaks from those of the ubiquitous robins, and led me to the first MacGillivray’s Warbler I’d seen in years. I’m not exaggerating when I say that moment changed my birding life. I fished my phone out of my pocket, opened the app, and gave it permission to use the microphone. It takes advantage of Cornell Lab’s vast library of more than 1.5 million birdsong recordings to capture live audio in the field and identify species in real time using machine learning. ![]() Then I remembered that Merlin Bird ID app had at some point added a “sound ID” feature that I’d been meaning to try out. On this particular morning, I was once again feeling mildly frustrated about my inability to ID some of the songs I was hearing, and about the birds I was inevitably missing as a result. But it’s the closest spot near my house where I might find any interesting migrants. The Fort Walla Walla Natural Area in southeastern Washington isn’t really anything special-50 acres of blackberry bramble and cottonwoods sandwiched between a hospital and a Home Depot. Migration was just starting to pick up, and I was squeezing in a quick bird walk at my local patch before starting work. I met the vireo in a rather nondescript place. The app not only reinvigorated my interest in my favorite hobby, but also introduced me to my new favorite bird, the Warbling Vireo-a species that’s been all around me for years but had until now managed to fly under my radar. This tool, part of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Merlin Bird ID app, made me aware of birdsong around me in a way that years of birding with skilled experts never did. Or at least I was until this spring, when I decided to try out a new smartphone app designed to make birding by ear accessible to the inexperienced. But the truth is my birding style could generously be described as casual. I don’t keep lists or chase rarities, and frankly I’m pretty bad at identifying birds by sound. I write about birds for a living, so people tend to assume I must be a skilled, hardcore birder as well. “The airport appreciates the public’s patience as it works through these challenges.” “Given the outsized impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international and business travel, the airport anticipates a drop in passenger traffic for the fall and winter seasons, which will make scaling operations up and down particularly difficult,” Brown mentioned. But whereas the summer time journey season has been busy, significantly in contrast with the durations when passenger ranges plummeted during the pandemic, airport officers are bracing for a slowdown later this 12 months. Whole passenger site visitors at PHL was up greater than fivefold in Could in contrast with Could 2020, based on the airport’s most up-to-date month-to-month exercise report. PHL spokesperson Florence Brown mentioned that the airport is assessing its parking services, and that there’s “no estimated reopening date” for the economic system lot, which has simply over 7,100 parking areas. “It would be very frustrating if I got to the airport, and they had no parking.” “It would just be nice to know” what the airport is planning so far as the economic system lot goes, Cassidy mentioned. “I have been lucky to find a space every time, but it’s becoming more and more challenging,” he mentioned. ![]() Gary Cassidy, of Bensalem, travels for work two to a few weeks every month. “I don’t know how families or those simply traveling on more of a budget like myself can be expected to afford higher fares just for parking,” Younger mentioned. Two nights of storage parking on one other journey value him nearly $80, he mentioned. Now that PreFlight received’t be an possibility, he’s saving up for what he expects might be dearer storage parking when he flies to go to kin in August. His household typically relied on the PreFlight lot. Zachary Younger, of Camden County, mentioned he’s been flying extra typically since he graduated from faculty just lately - and first observed in Could that airport garages had been getting full. ![]() PreFlight’s guardian firm, Chicago-based InterPark, didn’t reply to requests for remark about its plans for the property. That privately owned lot, at 4700 Island Ave., stopped accepting vehicles after July 14, based on its web site, and was scheduled to shut for good July 18. One other long-term lot, run by PreFlight Airport Parking, introduced plans to close down this month. The airport’s $13-a-day economy parking lot has been closed since March 2020, and there’s no reopening date on the calendar. ![]() As extra vacationers are booking flights again, some are encountering one other pandemic-era problem at Philadelphia Worldwide Airport: parking. It was still possible to ignore the worrying signals, until now, but this episode actually manages to remind me of how far off the track this show has gone. Not only is it a bad episodes, it's actually so poorly written that it lifts the veil off the preceding episodes of the season as well. I started feeling it in the sixth season, but that still had its highs. There's barely any intrigue left, all characters are boring and one-dimensional, nothing really shocking. It's become totally predictable, stupid popcorn entertainment. And gruesome, heartbreaking and still surprising.Īll of this is gone now. And just when you thought that you'd hit bottom and surely a sweet revenge story would start and things would get better. There's been no other show where you always felt that anything could happen, any time, to anyone. At 70 minutes, it was the series' longest episode until the airing of the season's finale. 'Beyond the Wall' is the sixth and penultimate episode of the seventh season of HBO's fantasy television series Game of Thrones, and the 66th overall. Beyond the Wall: Directed by Alan Taylor. And it's not because of their character arcs. He's completely uninteresting, a shadow of his former self. Compare Tyrion in the first two seasons to the Tyrion in the last two. They were always surprising you with new depths and character development. None of the characters felt like stereotypes or flat. Multi-layered, deep, interesting characters.GoT has on multiple occasions left me trembling from shock. Sure, there are splatter and gore movies that are "worse", but it's a completely different thing to see it realistically portrayed and happening to characters you're heavily invested in. Few movies or shows have displayed such graphic deaths. Truly gruesome violence and head-turning sex scenes. How sophisticated the political relations that did not treat the audience as idiots. How many times we were shocked to see key characters unpredictably turn on each other. There were so many layers of betrayal, intrigue, and loyalties (and lack thereof). A quick reminder, here are the things that made Game of Thrones an amazing and unique show that both hardcore fantasy fans and those not so much into fantasy could enjoy, for at least four seasons: ![]() Instead I want to emphasize how far from the earlier seasons this show has come. That's been done thoroughly by others already. If you can get it for much cheaper, like for maybe 1 euro, or buy it together with the main game as a bundle, I can’t recommend this DLC for full price.I don't want to focus here on the large number of plot holes or the absurd level of suspension of disbelief necessary to take anything in this episode seriously. ![]() While more Mors is always great, I just can’t justify that price for the amount of content you get. I think I finished it within 1 hour, and I bought it for 5 euro, which is probably more than I paid for the main title. I was not expecting a 10-20 hour experience here, but this barely qualifies as side-quest than an actual expansion. So, while the story is fun to follow, especially since we this time get to go to the top of the wall, and experience the wilds beyond the giant ice barrier – the DLC is incredibly short. The gameplay is also the same, with you fighting together with random companions, leveling up, upgrading your talents, and looting dead dudes with split heads. Just like the original, the writing is good, and at times very witty, making me snicker in front of the computer. In this little expansion we get to experience the backstory to all our favorite character Mors, 10 years before the actual story in the main game. Beyond the Wall is a DLC for the game Game of Thrones, which I reviewed here. The primary issue for me during gameplay, when DARQ was first released, was the use of movement with the arrow keys. The new update fixed a couple of issues that weren't a deal-breaker for me in the original release, but a nuisance, nevertheless. The patch fixed a few issues which allows Xbox One or Xbox 360 (both wired and wireless) to work correctly along with the Steam controller. As promised, it was released on March 6th, 2020.ĭARQ has a new update 1.2.1 that must be downloaded to play the new DLC. As promised before, both DLC’s will be free.". Was DARQ – 'The Tower' worth the wait? Let's find out.Īdditionally, Wlad mentioned, "I'll be trying to release the first DLC ‘The Tower’ around March, and the second one shortly after. The DLC was pushed back from its initial release of December 2019 to March 6th, 2020. If you enjoyed those games, just as much as I did, then there is no better time than now to purchase DARQ and receive the free DLC. A trailer followed not long after that you can watch here. Unfold Games released the news of the free DLC (downloadable content) for DARQ, called 'The Tower', on October 6th as an added 'Thank you' to us DARQ fans that supported the game during its release.
